How we pour

Made on a kitchen table in E17, twelve candles at a time.

I am Maya, I am 16, and I started pouring candles because the ones in shops gave my mum headaches. Soy wax, cotton wicks and phthalate-free oils fixed that. Now I pour every Sunday and sell at the Village market on Orford Road.

  • Melt slowlySoy flakes melted in a double boiler, never above 80°C.
  • Blend by handFragrance stirred in for two full minutes for an even throw.
  • Cure for two weeksThe hardest part. Patience is what makes the scent strong.
Candle evenings

Pour your own, with hot chocolate.

Two hour workshops in the back room of the Village community hall. Blend your own scent, pour a ceramic jar and a tin, and take both home. Max 8 people.
